Words and sounds is an open mic and jam session featuring local artists Najj Andrea and Louie Castle, with an amazing house band, featuring Allen Bell on drums, Remy Vega on keys, and Denzel Chismar-Oliver on bass.
These artist will get into the lyrics of their songs, what inspires them, and really just build an intimate connection with the audience.
Artist Bios:
Najj Andrea-
Najj is a singer/songwriter from Pittsburgh, Pa, who has been singing since she was 5 but professionally since the age of 16. Like a lot of people, she got her start in the church, but moved on to perform locally all around Pittsburgh at places like Mr. Smalls, Picklesburgh, the African American Cultural Festival, Light Up Night downtown Pittsburgh and many more. She strives to get her music out to the world.
Her music are the words that people wish they could say and the feelings they wish they would let out. It's not just about the words but also about the melodies that draw you in and make you want more.
Louie Castle-
Louie Castle is a guitarist based out of Pittsburgh who uses r&b, pop and folk influences to write and record his original music. As a live performer he is seen as a solo singer singer writer who will often have a band to accompany him in situations like weddings or large venues. In a live in environment the songs can change in duration or “vibe”. A lot of songs will be jammed out with lush improvisational moments so each performance is quite unique.
