Film Premiere with Live Score
The Precipice Community Band combines their unique brand of experimental music with immersive multimedia elements to depict an uncanny, mysterious world that is equal parts Lynchian and warmly, humorously provincial. The group is made up of Antonio Croes on piano, George Heid III on drums, and Ava Lintz on bass, three dynamic musicians who are among the new vanguard of 21st century experimental music.
The band’s new original feature film, “Time and Judgment,” centers around a supernatural cult living in the fictional woodland world known as The Precipice. It is a beautiful but dangerous rural place that beckons and seduces anyone who stays there for too long rather than just passing through.
The entire movie was filmed in one continuous shot while the band performed a new original suite of music called “Time and Judgment - Calypso Suite,” which centers around the musical styles of the Aruban carnival.
Come join us on the evening of May 22nd for a special screening of “Time and Judgment,” featuring The Precipice Community Band playing the score live along with the movie.
The music, collected over two days of recording and filming into a digital album, will be released on the night of the show.
There will be a $10 performance cover for the band

Voice of Drums presented by Hugo Cruz and Caminos!
Join us for a night of live original music in the lounge with Hugo Cruz and Caminos! Voice of Drums is a visionary collaboration of percussion. A fusion of old world and new world beats.
Special Guests Include:
Dwayne Dolphin / Bass
Lilly Abreu / Vocals
Eric Suseoff / Guitar
THE CAMINOS fuse rhythms and melodies of Afro-Cuban, Cuban, and American music, in an original contemporary expression that honors traditional Cuban form.
DWAYNE DOLPHIN plays acoustic bass and bass guitar (including piccolo bass).[1] He played locally in Pittsburgh from the age of 15. After high school he joined Wynton Marsalis's band. The AllMusic reviewer of his 1993 album Portrait of Adrian observed that "Dolphin's tone is round and full, and he's got an agile technique. Certainly the late Paul Chambers must have been an influence; like Chambers, Dolphin tends to place his unfussy improvisations in the instrument's lower register. Consequently, his lines are solidly melodic and generally to the point. Dolphin played piccolo bass on his 2006 album Ming.
LILLY ABREU was a winner of the 1998 Pittsburgh Concert Society and a guest artist on the 1999 Chamber Music Concert Series where she sang the Bachianas Brasileiras #5 with the entire cello section of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. In addition to her classical engagements, Ms. Abreu is an accomplished popular music artist, performing regularly some of the greatest tunes of the Brazilian repertoire, as well as Broadway and jazz standards. She is featured in the CD Plays Well With Others recorded with the renowned jazz trio White Tie Group and will soon release a CD of Brazilian Popular Songs with the Grammy nominated Cuarteto Latinoamericano.
Guitarist and composer ERIC SUSEOFF has been part of the Pittsburgh music scene since his debut with Harold Betters at the Encore in 1976. Offering a warm, bluesy, full-bodied sound, he has played with a long list of local and international luminaries including: Dizzy Gillespie, David Amram, Roger Williams, Airto, Ivan Lins, Romero Lubambo, Charo, Frankie Avalon, Marty Allen, Eric Kloss, Frank Cunimondo, Gene Ludwig, Pete Henderson, Dave & Maureen Budway, Sandy Staley, Kenia, Roger Humphreys, Erin Burkett, Kenny Blake, Walt Harper, Nathan Davis, Don Aliquo, John Wilson, Mike Tomaro and many others. His primary focus continues to be his Latin jazz quintet Salsamba, founded in 1984, which has played to clubs, festivals and colleges throughout the U.S. The group recently released their sixth recording titled "Mojito Blues." Past releases (MAMBO IN BLUE, MAMBO DEL SOL, LATINVENTIONS, THE TRAVELER, BRAZILIA) all received critical acclaim.
HUGO CRUZ AND CAMINOS released an album in February 2022 called Punto de Partida, featuring many notable musicians from Cuba and the U.S., recording eight of Hugo’s original compositions. In May 2022 Caminos was the Jazz Band headliner for the Westsylvania Jazz and Blues Festival in Indiana PA. Caminos also have been performing a concert series called, “The Voice of Drums”, which brings many great drummers from the Pittsburgh area such as: Roger Humphries, Poogie Bell, Tubby Daniels, Noel Quintana, Dennis Gardner, Jeff Berman, and James Johnson III, to join Camino’s way of expressing music.
There will be a $5 cover to support Live Music Programming.
